Radiographs are a very important tool in diagnosing illness or examining the extent of an illness or injury. With digital radiography, film processing is eliminated. This allows us to take the images we need very quickly and easily, allowing your pet to have only a short period of sedation or restraint necessary. We also get much more detailed images, which aids in the diagnosis of illness. It is also easier for us to share these images with you or with other specialists via email.
Ultrasound lets us evaluate individual organ structure in a much more detailed manner than radiographs do. Ultrasound is especially useful for monitoring pregnancy or egg development in reptiles. Often ultrasound and radiographs together can give us significantly more information about a patient's condition. Ultrasound is noninvasive and typically doesn't require sedation.
AEAHG’s use of digital radiography and ultrasound technology is part of our commitment to provide the highest quality care for our patients, getting them on the road to recovery faster and reducing your stress.
