Advanced Medicine & Diagnostics

Exotic animals are not the same as dogs and cats; each species has its own specific care requirements, diet, and medical conditions. Dr. Wilkinson has spent her entire career treating only exotic animals, and is familiar with their needs and medical conditions. Indicative of her experience and expertise, she is one of only 15 veterinarians in the U.S. to hold the distinction of board certified specialist in reptile and amphibian practice by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners.

Exotic pets are masters at hiding their signs of illness, so sometimes by the time they show you they are sick, they are very sick. That is why AEAHG has the capabilities to detect abnormalities, diagnose the problem, and start treatment as soon as possible. We have an in-house laboratory with to analyze bloodwork, perform fecal exams urinalysis, and cytology. We can also obtain samples for send-out tests. Additionally, most of our patients cannot swallow pills, so we also offer in house compounding of medications into liquids, specially flavored for your pet’s taste. We also have specialized equipment, such as small incubators for providing heat and oxygen if needed, all set up in our ICU facility.
